ReelStory is a reel-based backend platform built to manage short-form promotional content, affiliate links, category-based discovery, advertisements, user reviews, share tracking, multilingual feed delivery, media files, thumbnails, logos, adult-content flags, legal disclaimers, and admin-managed content publishing from one structured backend system.
The client needed a scalable backend system where admins could manage reels, categories, advertisements, media assets, affiliate links, ratings, reviews, share analytics, language-based content visibility, and legal disclaimer data without relying on manual updates or disconnected tools. The platform also needed a smooth feed experience with popular content, normal content, filtering, and media delivery support.
I developed a FastAPI-based backend with modular APIs for reel management, category management, advertisement handling, IP-based user login, JWT security, language-aware reel filtering, review and rating workflows, share tracking, popular reel sorting, media upload handling, thumbnail/logo management, legal disclaimer support, and WebSocket-based video chunk streaming. Redis-backed optimization, async API design, Docker deployment, and Nginx reverse proxy support were used to make the system reliable, maintainable, and production-ready.
